More content. Less brand drift. Why D3 built Scribe.

More content. Less brand drift. Why D3 built Scribe.

The problem with AI content is not that it sounds bad.

It is that it often sounds perfectly fine.

Fluent. Polished. Plausible. And almost indistinguishable from the content being produced by every other business using the same tools.

For marketing teams, that creates a difficult trade-off. The demand for content keeps growing across search, websites, campaigns, email and social. AI can accelerate production, but speed without control creates more reviewing, more correction and more brand drift.

We built Scribe because that problem kept appearing in our own work and in the work of our clients.

The blank prompt was never the real solution

ChatGPT, Claude and Jasper are powerful tools. We use and respect them.

But general-purpose AI tools normally begin with an individual user and a blank prompt. The quality of the result depends on what that person remembers to include: the audience, product information, approved claims, tone, channel, commercial objective and supporting evidence.

The next person may provide completely different instructions.

Over time, the organisation produces more content—but tells a less consistent story.

Senior marketers then spend time correcting predictable problems. Product information is outdated. Important nuance disappears. The tone is close, but not quite right. Content is technically acceptable without being particularly useful.

The model is not necessarily the problem. The operating system around it is missing.

Scribe starts with the brand

Scribe is a governed AI content platform developed by D3 in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Instead of asking every user to reconstruct the brand in every prompt, Scribe begins with the organisation’s approved knowledge, rules and performance standards.

It brings together three forms of intelligence:

  • The Brand Brain captures the organisation’s voice, positioning, products, terminology and content rules.
  • The Performance Brain applies practical thinking across SEO, AI discovery, conversion and content structure.
  • The Model Brain uses advanced AI models and validation workflows to produce the work.

This gives the wider marketing team one shared foundation.

People still decide what should be created. They still provide judgement, expertise and final approval. But they are no longer starting from an empty box or repeatedly explaining what the business already knows.

Built for people and modern discovery

Content now has two audiences.

The first is human. People need content that is useful, credible and easy to understand.

The second is machine-assisted discovery. Search engines and AI assistants need clear information, consistent entities, relevant context and accessible evidence before they can confidently retrieve or cite a source.

These requirements should not be separated.

Good SEO and GEO do not mean writing robotic copy for algorithms. They mean making genuine expertise easier to find, understand and trust.

Scribe helps teams structure content for modern discovery while keeping the language human and the commercial purpose clear.

It cannot manufacture authority that does not exist. It cannot replace technical SEO, distribution, digital PR or expert review. What it can do is make the production of useful, structured and consistent content far more manageable.

Already working inside D3

Scribe is not a product we developed in isolation and then handed to the market.

It is being used in D3’s own publishing programme and powers the content workflow behind our Knowledge Hub. That gives us a live environment in which to test its usefulness, improve the system and understand where human judgement remains essential.

Early client feedback has been equally practical.

One user reported saving approximately eight hours each week. Another described the output simply as: “It’s spot on.”

Individual results will vary, and we want to build more attributable evidence as adoption grows. But these early signals point to the outcome that matters: less time correcting predictable problems and more time improving the substance of the work.

Two ways to use Scribe

Scribe is available through two plans. Both include unlimited platform use and up to five user seats.

Scribe Self Serve — NZ$1,850 per month

Self Serve is for marketing teams that want to plan and create their own content inside a governed brand system. It includes hands-on onboarding, Brand Brain setup and content formats spanning search, social and web.

Scribe Pro — NZ$2,750 per month

Scribe Pro combines the platform with a managed SEO and AI-discovery content programme. It includes a full SEO/GEO content plan, specialist production and 20 completed articles each month—while retaining unlimited use of the platform for the internal team.

Published prices are in New Zealand dollars, exclude GST and are subject to a one-off onboarding fee based on brand and data complexity. See the full Scribe pricing.

Control matters more as output increases

The AI market is moving quickly. Models will improve. Costs will change. New interfaces will appear.

The durable question is not which model produced a paragraph.

It is whether an organisation can use AI repeatedly without losing control of its knowledge, standards and brand.

That is the problem Scribe is designed to solve.

Not another place to generate words. A better way to operationalise what the brand already knows.
